Joining Jesus on Mission
We exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and we want to see people of every generation join
Jesus on mission as fully surrendered disciple makers. Towards this end, we provide multiple opportunities for individuals and families to join Jesus on mission in our community, within the United States and around the world. We also partner with and assist gospel-centered organizations in mission and mercy ministries.
Our mission focus follows the Acts 1:8 framework where Jesus said that, with the power of the Holy Spirit, His disciples would be His “witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

On Mission in Our Community
We believe that the light that shines the farthest shines the brightest at home. There are tens of thousands of people in our community that do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ, and God has established Dutch Cove as a gospel light in our community. So, we have a strong focus on personal evangelism with those near us who need Jesus. We believe that we are saved to serve others in Jesus name. Through gospel centered outreach to our community and strategic partnerships with our local schools, government, and gospel ministries we seek to meet people where they are and help them discover the mercy, grace, forgiveness and love of Jesus Christ.
In addition to evangelical outreach into our community, we also strategically partner with local gospel-centered ministries throughout the year in order to multiply the good news of Jesus. Our partnerships include prayer, financial support, and serving opportunities. Please pray for and considering serving with Haywood Christian Ministries, Broyhill Children’s Home, Haywood Pathways Center, and The Community Kitchen.

On Mission Within the United States
We support the work of the North American Missions Board (NAMB) through a portion of our offering each week and through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. In the past year, we helped fund more than 3,000 pastors and their families in new and revitalizing churches across the United States through NAMB.
In addition, we provide mission opportunities throughout the year where we come alongside missionaries in the field to help encourage them and support them in their gospel ministry. Our mission opportunities within the United States vary in time, location and objective, but every effort is made to develop the mission such a way that the entire family can join Jesus on mission together. When families serve together on a short-term mission, invariably they return radically changed by the Holy Spirit. Past missions include planting a church in Rutland, VT, helping revitalize a church in Brooklyn, NY, and partnering with both resident and immigrant church planters in Coats for the City, a cooperative effort between North Carolina Baptists and the Metro New York Baptist Association.

On Mission Around the World
We support the work of the International Missions Board (IMB) through a portion of our offering each week and through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This past year, we helped fund 3,615 missionaries through the International Mission Board through whom God used to bring the gospel to more than 535,000 resulting in 47,929 baptisms.
In addition, we partner with Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, and we send short-term missionary teams to serve with established gospel ministries, like Life Together Nicaragua.

Join Jesus on Mission
There are also many opportunities to serve right here at Dutch Cove both during services and throughout the week. Our volunteer ministry teams represent the right combination of abilities and giftedness, serving with a united purpose - to make disciples.
